Resource Recommendations

Please let us know if there is a book, database, or other resource that you would like to use in your instruction. We welcome your recommendations anytime! Use the email button at the bottom of this page to send us a message, or contact any of the librarians.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary loan service allows you to request articles from other libraries and have them delivered to you via email.

Articles typically arrive within 2-3 business days.

Requests should be for student research, faculty research, or professional development. Items are meant for individual use only. Please contact the library if you need an article for class or group use.

Student requests must be approved by the classroom teacher for whom the research assignment is for. Contact Lianne Pang (lpang@iolani.org) to discuss setting up pre-approval for your class.

Copyright Office guidelines for journal articles have the following restrictions:

  • No more than one article from a single issue of a journal (per person)
  • For articles published during the last five years, no more than five from a single journal per calendar year (for the entire library, not just per person)

Articles published in the last year may be difficult to obtain.

To request an article, email lpang@iolani.org with the citation information and URL.
